– HALLIDAY ENGINEERING PRESS RELEASE –
This year, leading Australian Marine Engineering firm, Halliday Engineering, celebrates 170 years in business.
Founded in 1852, the firm takes great pride in its long history, which has been built on the industry know-how of five generations of the Halliday family.
Halliday Engineering Managing Director, Luke Halliday, attributes the company’s ongoing success to its extensive local knowledge.
“Our resources, skill-sets, and capabilities are well known across the country”, he said.
“We pride ourselves on genuinely understanding our clients’ needs and being able to solve their problems promptly and professionally.”
Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Stuart Ayres congratulated the company on the milestone and said he was delighted that the company has been supported to showcase its experience at the INDO PACIFIC 2022 International Maritime Exposition tradeshow held in Sydney.
“NSW is home to some of Australia’s most advanced defence maritime businesses and Indo Pac will allow companies big and small to expand their networks, meet with potential customers and expand their domestic and global footprints,” Mr Ayres said.
“The NSW Government’s role is to support the defence and aerospace industry to develop and enhance its partnerships across the sector and it’s fantastic to know that such an experienced player like Halliday will be in attendance with us.”
This strong client focus and commitment to delivering customised solutions has helped the business expand its operations significantly over the years. We now have over ninety team members supporting Defence projects in the Maritime Industry. This includes seven apprentices and five undergraduate engineers.
Shannon Sykes from Atlantic & Peninsula Australia is working with Halliday Engineering on the HMAS Choules during the refit period.
“Overwhelmingly impressed with how Halliday are conducting themselves on the current project, not only from a health and safety aspect, but from a planning and coordination aspect also. The whole team are highly respectful and willing to address any issues raised immediately. They have been instrumental to the project and are miles ahead when it comes to HSEQ and conducting the works.”
From humble beginnings, Halliday Engineering has grown to have three specialist workshops at Sydney City Marine, Garden Island and Rozelle, all nearby to Sydney’s ports.
They have also extended their reach, now servicing clients located throughout Australia and all across the world.
