At Halliday Engineering we work across the defence, shipping, mining, power generation and marine engineering industries. We service, design, procure, manufacture, fabricate, and repair plant and marine assets interstate and overseas. We are based at Rozelle and work at various sites located in Sydney.

We start early and finish early! Hours are 7:00 am until 3:30 pm.

The Opportunity

Are you a talented Mechanical Draftsperson seeking an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills and contribute to innovative projects? Look no further! Halliday Engineering is a leading engineering company, and we are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Draftsperson to join our dynamic team.

About the role:

• Collaborate with engineers and design teams to create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Assist in development and modification of mechanical designs, components, and systems.
• Prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for manufacturing, assembly, and installation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.
• Perform regular quality checks to verify accuracy and completeness of drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design-related issues and provide technical support.

About You:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsperson or similar role.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, techniques, and standards.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical certificate in mechanical drafting or related field.
